Pressure Sensors
Electric connection
Pressure sensors and other types of sensors that operate using a variable output voltage can be directly connected to the system.
Each input can be used for the measurement of voltages or for the measurement of NTC type temperature sensors.
To measure voltages, the jumper on the board corresponding to the input to be used must be removed. Normally the equipment is delivered with a single jumper mounted on AN4. The rest of the inputs are usually prepared to receive direct voltages from 0 to 5 volts in the Max models or from 0.2 to 4.8 volts in the Starter models.
Number | Function | Jumper | Signal No. in Software |
---|---|---|---|
1 | AN1 | Reserved for AFR | 1 |
2 | AN2 | Jumper NTC2 | 2 |
3 | GND | 0V | |
4 | AN3 | Jumper NTC3 | 3 |
5 | AN4 | Jumper NTC4 | 4 |
Power Supply
In case your sensor needs 5V power, you can use 5V power and GND from other terminal block. The 5V power rail from Accudyno is not very accurate, because it is 5V power supplied by the USB bus and it has a tolerance of 4.75 to 5.25 Volts. In case your sensor needs a more accurate voltaje, you should supply it from an external power supply.
Exmaple: industrial pressure sensor on AIN2 input
Example: MPX5700 pressure sensor on AIN3 input
Calibration
The AIN inputs can be configured and calibrated in the software to adapt to the linear scale of the quantity to be measured in the desired unit.
